Irvin Simms

Irvin Simms was one of twelve children born to the union of Eliza Legania and George Simms. Nine of his siblings preceded him in death. He leaves behind two sisters, Shelia Sentino and JoceLyn Simms.
Irvin received his Elementary and High School education in the New Orleans School System.
He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age, at First Free Mission Baptist Church which he attended for many years.
Irvin married the love of his life, Rosemary Young, on August 24, 1974. To this union, one son was born, Keenan.
Irvin was truly a family man. He loved family gatherings and while able, attending the Simms Famiy Reunions. He was an avid Bid Whist player along with his sister Shelia and loved sports of all kind. When he became a Deacon in the church, he loved visiting the sick and shut-in members.
Irvin made his transition on July 30, 2022, reuniting with his parents and sibliings.
He leaves to cherish his loving and precious memory, his wife of many years, Rosemary; son, Keenan (Antoinette) Simms; sisters Shelia Sentino and JoceLyn Simms; four grandchildren, two boys and two girls; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, beloved cousins and other relatives and friends.
